ADAPTIVE BIKES
Adaptive Biking in Concord, MA
Concord is proud to offer adaptive biking options for residents and visitors of all abilities:
- Minuteman Bike Share Adaptive Bikes: Through the regional Minuteman Bike Share, adaptive bikes are available seasonally (typically April–November). You can pick one up at either the Concord Visitor Center (58 Main St.) or the West Concord entrance to the Bruce Freeman Rail Trail. Just use the app, scan the QR code, and off you go!
- Smooth Trail Access: The Bruce Freeman Rail Trail and other shared-use paths in Concord and nearby towns are smooth and level—ideal for trikes, tandems, and handcycles.
- Universal Access/All Out Adventures Events: DCR adaptive cycling events occur on Massachusetts rail trails.

Private Tours – Tailored to Your Needs
Our private walking tours can be adapted to meet a wide range of access needs. Whether you need:
- A shorter route with benches and seating.
- A tour guide who uses visual aids or sign language.
- Flat terrain with no hills.
We also welcome guests with autism and other sensory or cognitive differences and are happy to adjust pacing, language, and stimuli to ensure a comfortable and engaging experience for everyone. We’ll design a personalized, inclusive experience just for you. Between Us Sisters – Theater That Comes to You
This moving one-act play about family, memory, and connection travels to you. Whether it’s a school, senior center, library, or community space, Between Us Sisters brings Concord’s spirit of storytelling directly to your audience—no stage required. Fully accessible with flexible setup options.

ASL Tours
We’re proud to launch American Sign Language–interpreted tours of key historic sites. Led by trained guides with ASL interpreters, these tours make our town’s story accessible in new ways.
Parking
The town provides dedicated handicapped parking options throughout its downtown and at key historical and recreational sites.
Transportation
The MBTA Fitchburg Line provides commuter rail service from Boston and nearby areas. From either the West Concord or Concord stations, take a taxi or rideshare to your destination or to the Concord Visitor Center, 58 Main St. Note: West Concord station has accessible boarding platforms, while Concord station does not and requires use of metal stairs to board or exit the train.
LIMITED MOBILITY
Concord Museum
The Museum is fully accessible with ramps and an elevator. A wheelchair and gallery stools are available upon request.
Minuteman National Park
The Minute Man Visitor Center and North Bridge Visitor Center have many sections of paved and non-paved trail accessible to those with limited mobility. Accessible parking and restrooms are also available. Individuals with mobility impairments wishing to tour Hartwell Tavern, Smith House, and Whittemore House can discuss accommodation available with rangers at the Minute Man Visitor Center.
Walden Pond
A new, universally-designed trail connects the Visitor Center to Thoreau’s House Site and is designed for accessibility, as are the visitor center and restrooms. Beach wheelchairs, including one floating chair, are available to guests and may be reserved in advance. Daily parking fees are waived for vehicles with disability license plates or placards.
Orchard House
is handicapped-accessible on the first floor only; visitors with special needs or who are unable to climb stairs will be offered accommodations to enhance their tour experience.

RESTROOMS
Accessible restrooms are available inside the Concord Visitor Center, open 10 a.m.-4 p.m.
SERVICE DOGS
Service animals are welcome in downtown businesses. They must remain on a leash or harness and be under control of owner at all times. Contact individual businesses if you have questions about service dogs.
VISUAL DISABILITIES
Braille, printed transcripts and/or audiovisual aides may be available at select locations in Concord. Please contact individual businesses you plan on visiting for information and availability prior to your arrival.
AUTISM/SENSORY
Neurodiverse travelers are welcome in Concord and many destinations will work with you to create a more comfortable experience for all visitors.
