History Without Frostbite Returns to the Wright Tavern

Concord’s best stories don’t hibernate, and you don’t have to brave icy sidewalks to hear them. History Without Frostbite brings our popular history talks indoors to the Wright Tavern, the 1747 landmark where militia gathered on the morning of April 19, 1775. Each 90-minute program swaps the frozen walking tour for a warm seat and a lively conversation led by expert presenters.

Last season’s programs went beyond the textbook. Black History of Concord traced the town’s first generations of free Black families and the self-emancipated leaders who pushed Concord, and the nation, toward freedom. Women of Concord celebrated the reformers, writers and artists who were rewriting the rules long before “changemaker” was a word.

Programs run at midday, so you can make a lunch date of it. Last year, $15 covered the program, or $35 added a bag lunch from The Cheese Shop of Concord.

Save your seat: This winter’s dates are [DATES]. Call the Concord Visitor Center at 978-318-3061 or visit VisitConcord.org to reserve. Planning an outing for a club, class, library or senior group? History Without Frostbite can also be booked as a private program. Stay warm and leave inspired.
