SUMMARY:Workshop: Autumn Wool Painting
DESCRIPTION:Using both wet and dry felt-making techniques\, we will create a beautiful landscape inspired by the color that surrounds us. Taking place over two mornings\, this workshop is suitable for beginners as well as those with previous felt-making experience. \nFiber arts instructor Elizabeth Stubbs studied art at Boston University\, where she earned a BFA in painting. Following graduation\, she spent many years as an art teacher at the Winsor School in Boston. Later\, she studied illustration at the Art Institute of Boston and became a freelance illustrator. She discovered the ancient art of felt-making during her training to become a Waldorf teacher and has been exploring it for 20 years. \nFor additional arts classes and workshops for youths\, teens\, and adults\, see TheUmbrellaArts.org/Classes. \nCOVID-19: Effective August 2\, to protect the most vulnerable members of our community\, and in keeping with updated CDC guidance\, The Umbrella is instituting policies requiring visitors\, artists\, staff and students to wear a mask in indoor public areas at 40 Stow Street\, regardless of vaccination status. Additional updates to health policies will be made on an ongoing basis at TheUmbrellaArts.org/Covid. \nASK ABOUT: New student\, military family\, sibling discounts\, and tuition assistance opportunities and the MCC Card-to-Culture program. \nABOUT THE PROGRAM: The Umbrella is a multifunction\, nonprofit regional arts center dedicated to enriching lives and building a vibrant and inclusive creative community in historic Concord/Greater Boston-Metrowest.
