SUMMARY:Concord250: The Concord Chorus Winter Concert "Lift Up the Light"
DESCRIPTION:Tickets are now on sale for the Concord Chorus Winter Concert on December 14\, at 2 p.m. and 5 p.m. This lively performance of seasonal pieces highlights the continued friendship of former enemies in recognition of the “Concord 250” celebration of the American Revolution. The concert will showcase beautiful music by British and American composers; the repertoire includes works by women\, people of different faiths\, and those with diverse styles. Music Director Kevin Leong has chosen pieces from several centuries to illustrate that the music is indeed still “heard around the world” and reflects the progress from a state of enmity to a centuries-long alliance with Britain. The rich program features music by Amy Beach\, William Byrd\, Harold Darke\, Katherine K. Davis\, Charles Ives\, Henry Purcell\, John Rutter\, Randall Thompson\, Ralph Vaughan Williams\, Virgil Thomson\, and Errollyn Wallen. Accompaniment is by Jonathan Wessler on organ\, and John Sullivan on piano.\n\n\nSaturday\, December 14 at 2:00PM & 5:00PM\nMiddlesex School Memorial Chapel\n1400 Lowell Road\, Concord\, MA 01742
