SUMMARY:"Earthworks: Evolution" Ceramics Biennial
DESCRIPTION:The Umbrella Arts Center of Concord\, MA presents its second Ceramics Biennial Exhibition\, “Earthworks: Evolution”\, a regional show celebrating the depth of history\, tradition\, and cultural expression in contemporary ceramics\, and the ways in which artists continue to expand the field through innovation and reinterpretation.  \nAdmission is free and the Allie Kussin Gallery is open to all. The works in this exhibition will be available for purchase via ArtCloud.com after the opening reception; for earlier inquiries\, please reach out to Julia@TheUmbrellaArts.org. \nExhibition Dates: April 29 – June 28\, 2026 |Opening Reception: April 29\, 6:00 – 8:00 PM (RSVP requested) | Form and Narrative on Elegantly Embossed Ceramics with Juror and Visiting Artist Lisa Orr: Workshop ($70) – REGISTER HERE | Artist’s Talk (Free) – RSVP requested \nJUROR: Lisa Orr has been a studio potter for over 40 years. Orr’s ceramics lushly blend historical\, functional roots with organic\, fluid forms that embrace gentle asymmetry. Inspired by nature and intuition\, her richly textured and colorfully glazed slip-cast surfaces evoke birds on the wing\, coral reefs\, and blooming flowers\, resulting in work that’s vibrant\, emotional\, and assured. \nFEATURED ARTISTS: Alice Abrams • Jack Abramson • Chris Archer • Ben Babcock • Becky Bailey • Sasha M Bergmann • Heather Binder • Josephine Burr • Bob Callahan • Loring Cheney • Claire Corey • Julie Cunningham • Holly Curcio • Christine DeGennaro • Natasha Dikareva • Helen Duncan • Larry W Elardo • Katie Fee • Debra Fleury • Molly Frantz • Leslie Fry • Fionnuala Hart Gerrity • Pam Golden • Joan Hilton • Alexandra Hogan Kosciak • Lindsey McFarland Howarth • Tom Hubbard • Kyle Johns • Hillary Ellen Kane • Grace Kerr • Yeonsoo Kim • Lucien Koonce • Gwendolyn Lanier • Jaeok Lee • Warren Mather • Jennifer McCandless • Eliane Medina • Donna Namnoum • Elizabeth Ocean • Shyanne Ogilvie • Linnea Pappas-Byers • Jenny Peace • Julie Peck • Ingrid Raab • Andrew Robinson (boats by drew) • Ellen Schön • Kimberly Scott • Corran Shrimpton • Anne Thiam • Joan Zagrobelny

What happened here on April 19\, 1775\, and what crucial decisions did colonial leaders make that brought them face to face with menacing British troops? \nThe Beyond 1775 tour will explore the battle site at the North Bridge and the conflict that took place there. We’ll also visit the Wright Tavern to discover how the Massachusetts Provincial Congress met months before to plan their resistance to the British military threat. \nBook here: https://visitconcord.org/visit/walking-tours/
